Purpose and Mission
Ranger Code Compliance is committed to preserving the environment and improving our community's quality of life by fostering public awareness and ensuring structured enforcement of State laws and local regulations.
The mission of Ranger Code Compliance is to eliminate hazards and threats that contribute to blight and negatively impact the health, safety, and overall welfare of our community. 

Duties
Code Enforcement Officers are charged with enforcing laws and ordinances regulating illegal dumping, health and safety, junked, abandoned and disabled vehicles, property maintenance, rental housing, parking restrictions on private and public property, illegal signs and garage sales.

Common Violations

When it comes to building and construction projects, adhering to local, regional and national codes and regulations is of utmost importance. Failure to meet these requirements can lead to costly fines, delays and even legal consequences. Whether you're a homeowner, contractor or developer, understanding these common pitfalls will help you navigate the complex landscape of compliance and ensure your projects are executed smoothly and in accordance with the law.

  • Litter & Trash Debris
Accumulations of litter, trash and debris on private premises can be more then just unsightly. More importantly, by their presence, vermin-related and public health often coexist. Such accumulations must be removed by the property owner. 
  • Junked Vehicles 
A junked vehicle is a self -propelled vehicle that has an expired motor vehicle registration, no license plate and/or is wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, or discarded, or is inoperable and has remained inoperable for more than 72 consecutive hours. The vehicle must be restored to operable condition, removed from the property, or be stored in an enclosed structure. 
  • Abandoned Vehicles 
An abandoned vehicle is a self -propelled vehicle that is inoperable, remained illegally, has been left unattended on public property or has remined on private property without the consent of the owner or person in charge of the property for more than 48 hours.
  • High Weeds and Grass 
High weeds and grass are considered a violation when the growth exceeds 8 inches in height. The owner and tenant are responsible for maintaining the property from any street curbs to the back of the property. 
  • Care of Premises 
When conditions within a property are visible from a public right of way and tend to reduce the visual appeal of the property, an unsightly condition exists. This may be any object or matter such as: appliances, brush, building materials, dead trees, household items, limbs, rubbish, tires and similar items that are openly stored and must be removed. 
  • Dangerous Buildings 
All building or structures must meet the minimum standards. Any building or structure that is abandoned, unsecured, dilapidated, has structural damage is a dangerous building and shall be repaired or demolished. 
  • Recreational Vehicles 
Recreational vehicles, boats and major recreational equipment are not permitted to be connected to utilities. Recreational vehicles, boats and major recreational equipment shall only be stored inside an enclosed garage or other accessory building on any lot, on the side or rear yard on a residential lot. Recreational vehicles, boats and major recreational equipment may not be stored on a driveway for more than 72 consecutive hours. No recreational vehicle or major recreational equipment shall be used for living, sleeping, office space, or operation of a business when parked or stored on a lot in a residential district, or in any other location not approved for such use. It shall be unlawful for any recreational vehicle, boat, or major recreational equipment to be parked on a public street longer than 72 consecutive hours.
